We live in world of empires. Empires of money, nation states, foods, fashions, cities. Each of these may be seen as a network, and the intersections of these networks help shape us as humans. Empires explore the individual's place in our newly interconnected, global society. Our film takes the position that there is no longer a singular place of dominance or network on the world stage, and looks at our networked condition and how it redefines global politics and culture.
